GENORAY has completed the NMPA registration for PAPAYA 3D PREMIUM in China and plans to begin local sales in October.

GENORAY, a global medical imaging equipment specialist, is stepping up its efforts to penetrate China’s premium dental imaging equipment market. The company plans to move beyond its existing focus on entry-level products by expanding its high-end product lineup and extending its business into the otolaryngology market.
According to GENORAY on the 22nd, the company has completed medical device registration with China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for PAPAYA 3D PREMIUM, a high-end dental cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) system. GENORAY’s Chinese subsidiary completed the registration process on the 20th and plans to begin full-scale sales in October after completing follow-up administrative procedures, including a change of local agent.
By adding a premium CBCT system capable of large-field imaging to its existing product lineup in China, GENORAY has significantly strengthened its portfolio. The company explained that its expanded lineup will enable it to meet the requirements of various clinical environments and target demand from mid- to high-tier medical institutions.
PAPAYA 3D PREMIUM is particularly notable for its versatility, as it can be used not only for dental care but also for otolaryngology diagnosis. Building on the customer base it has established in the dental market, GENORAY plans to expand the product’s applications into otolaryngology and generate new demand. For medical institutions, the ability to use a single system across a broader range of clinical applications is considered a key competitive advantage.
GENORAY is also accelerating the expansion of its local sales network in China. In addition to strengthening its existing distributor network, the company plans to secure new sales channels and establish reference and pilot hospitals in key regions. It will also increase brand awareness through academic conferences, medical device exhibitions, and expanded online marketing via WeChat, China’s leading social media platform.
GENORAY is also pursuing Chinese medical device certification for GT300, another strategic product in its pipeline. By continuously expanding its portfolio of certified products, the company aims to broaden its addressable markets and distribution channels while strengthening the foundation for growth in its Chinese business.
“This certification marks the starting point for expanding our business in China into the premium product and otolaryngology markets,” a GENORAY representative said. “We will strengthen our product portfolio by progressively obtaining certification for strategic products, including GT300, and take our business in China to the next level.”
Meanwhile, industry observers regard China as one of the fastest-growing markets for premium diagnostic imaging equipment, driven by the expansion of implant and orthodontic treatments and the transition toward digital dentistry. The dental CBCT market is also being reshaped around high-performance systems.
“China has high regulatory barriers, but once a product is successfully registered, it becomes relatively easier to introduce follow-up products and expand sales networks,” a bioindustry official said. “GENORAY appears to be pursuing a strategy of increasing its portfolio of certified products to expand market share, rather than focusing on sales of a single product.”
