Genoray CEO Park Byung-wook Wins Jung Jin-ki Media Culture Award: "Achieved Technological Independence in a Market Dominated by Foreign Imports"

Genoray CEO Park Byung-wook (pictured) has garnered attention for winning the Jung Jin-ki Media Culture Award for Science and Technology Research, one of the most prestigious honors in the domestic science and technology sector. He was recognized for leading the localization and industrialization of core technologies in the medical X-ray imaging equipment field, which had previously been heavily dependent on foreign imports.

According to Genoray on the 1st, CEO Park founded the company in 2001 after leading the development and business operations of medical imaging devices at Medison. At a time when the medical X-ray market was dominated by global corporations, he established a foundation for localization by developing core technologies in-house, including X-ray generators, detectors, and image processing software.

Building on this foundation, he successfully commercialized products such as Mobile C-arms, Mammography, and Dental CBCT systems, and the company has now secured global competitiveness by supplying products to over 90 countries worldwide.

Genoray, which started with just five employees, has grown into a specialized medical imaging company with 426 staff members. The company is credited with enhancing the competitiveness of the domestic medical device industry by linking technological development to exports and job creation.

Following the Bronze Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit received last year, this latest recognition with the Jung Jin-ki Media Culture Award further solidifies CEO Park's contributions to the localization and industrialization of core medical X-ray technology.
